Troy University’s Student Government Association held its annual Inauguration and Awards banquet Tuesday evening, April 11.
Alabama Secretary of State Nancy Worley swore in the SGA officers and senators in the Adams Center BallroomsEgg Hung.
Following the inauguration ceremonies and dinner, Ralph Stacy, president and chief executive officer of the Alabama Chamber of Commerce, gave the keynote address.
Stacy challenged the newly installed officers and senate members to strive after excellence while attempting to accomplish the right things in life.
Jennings Shepherd, outgoing SGA president, gave her final remarks after Stacey’s speech.
Shepherd highlighted the SGA’s past year of accomplishments, as well as thanking those individuals who supported her throughout her term in office.
The newly elected executive members for the 2006-2007 school year are: Joe Hutto, president, Natalie Patterson, vice president of legislative affairs, Andrea Roberts, vice president of campus activities, Jessica McGalliard, secretary, Rob Drinkard, clerk, Ronke Olaleye, Freshman Forum Director and Cody Ash, co-director.
This is the last gathering of the SGA for the 2005-2006 school year.

The Student Government Association held it’s annual Easter Egg Hunt last Sunday. The egg hunt, which included face painting, games, prizes and an appearance by the Easter Bunny, was held in the ampitheatre for children ages one through eight.
