The Student Government Association discussed the following business at its March 13 meeting:
There will be a table in the Trojan Center for Spring Break Safety Week from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. for the next few days. Those who would like to sign a pledge card to stay safe over spring break could enter into a drawing, which could win them a basket full of beach goodies.
March 30 is the last day the SGA office will be receiving applications to run for senator and the senator election is April 4.
Nominations for Senator Choice Award and Senator of the Year took place.
April 5 is Higher Education Day.
SGA is expecting their new web site to be up and running after spring break.
More than 16,000 professors and 400 colleges are now on swapnotes.com, a web site used for uploading notes from classes for others to see and downloading notes to receive help on your subjects.
April 17 at 7 p.m. is the SGA banquet and inauguration. SGA members’ admission is free, but there is a cost for guests.
Brenda Patterson put out a plea for all students and faculty to keep the international students involved in the recent car accidents in their minds and hearts.
A memorial for the international student who passed away was help on March 14 at 4 p.m. in the Arboretum.
Karaoke will be held tonight.
There are only two more SGA meetings left for his semester.
Remember, “Arrive Alive” after spring break.

The Student Government Association discussed the following business at its March 27 meeting:
“Keep your mind on Troy” is what the Student Government Association is asking for all students to spread to leaders who will vote on Gov. Bob Riley’s act to raise the money given to Troy by 35 percent.
That will bring Troy’s funds up from $6 million to $18 million.
April 5 is Higher Ed Day.
All students who wish to attend should meet in the in the Trojan Center parking lot at 8:30 a.m. for a 9 a.m. departure.
Students are encouraged to wear Trojan colors, and participants will receive a free lunch, class excuse and a chance to win a book scholarship.
April 11 is Feedback from the Front.
This is a chance for people with academic issues to have their voices heard by our deans.
Honor Cord policy changes are now being sent to the Graduation Planning Committee, and the SGA is asking that students be able to wear one pin or badge, one cord and one medallion at graduation.
A resolution to honor senior athletes was passed.
SGA has agreed to pay $250 of the $1,000 going toward Higher Ed Day.
A resolution to improve diversity on campus was put on docket.
Relay for Life will be held on Saturday from 3 p.m. to 3 a.m.
The SGA-sponsored Easter egg hunt is on Sunday at 1 p.m.
The deadline for Senate general election candidate applications is March 30 at 5 p.m., and the election will be held April 4.
Thursday’s activity at Frank’s Place is karaoke.
An appeal for the parking on grass fine to be lowered to the same amount as any other parking fine was put on docket.
The SGA banquet is April 17 at 6 p.m.
